opening overlay issue

Overlay loading should also behave as follows:

• there should be a loading icon (currently there's no hint that and overlay is being loaded)
• the background should load first so there's no "gray area" on the screen while the overlay loads
• alternative: loading icon should stay until all data is fetched, only then all is loaded
